Kenai River scores twice in final 30 seconds en route to shootout victory

After losing to last-place Dawson Creek (British Columbia) Rage 4-3 on Friday, the visiting Kenai River Brown Bears knew they needed two points Saturday to stay afloat in the playoff race. BEARS SPLIT WITH WENATCHEE
The visiting Kenai River Brown Bears shut out the Wenatchee (Wash.) Wild on Friday night 2-0, which helped them gain some points in the North American Hockey League standings. However, the Wild put up an identical score against the Bears on Saturday to essentially nullify the weekend. 2011 wrapping up with exciting tender signing

The Kenai River Brown Bears suffered a set back loss in Friday night's contest at the Soldotna Sports Center. Wild on Friday and Saturday in North American Hockey League play. Both victories came in extra time — Friday’s 3-2 win in a shootout and Saturday’s 3-2 win in overtime. Kenai River is now 5-0 this year in overtime. Dating back to last season, the Brown Bears have also won four of their last five games in Wenatchee, which is a tough place to play. The Kenai River Brown Bears erased a one-goal deficit in regulation and Zac Lazzaro scored in overtime, propelling the squad to a 5-4 win over the previously undefeated Fresno (Calif.)
